Tottenham Hotspur Sack Thomas Frank After Dismal Eight-Month Reign

Tottenham Hotspur have sacked head coach Thomas Frank with immediate effect, the club confirmed on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. The decision comes just eight months after Frank took charge in June 2025, following the departure of Ange Postecoglou.
Frank's tenure has been marked by poor results, with the team languishing in 16th place in the Premier League—only five points above the relegation zone. In 38 matches across all competitions, Tottenham recorded 13 wins, 11 draws, and 14 losses. The Dane's position became untenable after a dismal run, including an eight-game winless streak and Tuesday night's 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle United.
The sacking followed fan discontent, with supporters chanting for Frank's dismissal in recent away games. Ironically, after the Newcastle loss, Frank publicly declared he was "1000% sure" of remaining in charge for the upcoming North London derby against Arsenal. The club acted swiftly, with the decision reportedly made shortly after halftime during the Newcastle match.
Tottenham's statement thanked Frank for his commitment but cited "results and performances" as necessitating the change. Speculation now turns to potential replacements, with names like Mauricio Pochettino, Roberto De Zerbi, and even Xavi Hernandez linked to the vacancy. The club faces a critical period to avoid a relegation battle, with the high-profile Arsenal clash looming in just days.
