Yorke: Recommends United Sign Ouattara; Bruno's Future Could Hinge on UCL Qualification
January 2 – Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke recently shared his views on the club in an interview with PokerScout.

Yorke stated: "Looking at current performances and the team Ouattara plays for, even if he isn't the best player in the Premier League right now, he's definitely one of the very best. If Ouattara could join a top-tier club and play alongside better players, his potential would be limitless. It's no coincidence that all the big clubs are chasing him – it comes down to his consistency and sustained high-level performances."

"For Manchester United, Ouattara would be the kind of player who excites fans and gets them off their seats. I think his ability is outstanding. Could he adapt at United? And what could he bring? I believe he can carry the ball forward and relieve pressure on the defense."

"Signing Ouattara would be a significant move within the manager's tactical system. United's playing style over the years has always involved having players who can drive forward with the ball into attacking areas to ease defensive pressure, and Ouattara possesses exactly that ability."

"This has been key to United's success over many years. From Andrei Kanchelskis, to Ryan Giggs, David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Antonio Valencia – these players could all take the ball and advance deep into the opposition half. Ouattara can do the same. Beyond that, he contributes goals and assists and creates chances, but his best position isn't as a wing-back."

"The role Amorim envisions for Ouattara would greatly influence his final decision. If I were Ouattara, I wouldn't want to play as a wing-back – that position would stifle my creative attacking qualities. I'd suggest initial discussions take place, but there's no doubt that right now, not only United but Manchester City and all top clubs want to sign him."

While urging United to strengthen the squad, Yorke also hopes the club can retain its key players: "Over the past five years, Bruno Fernandes has undoubtedly been United's star player. There was a season when Marcus Rashford was in peak form and scored over 30 goals, but Bruno has always been the indispensable figure."

"United have never lacked talented attacking players, and Bruno's style fits the club perfectly – that's beyond doubt. Over the past five years or so, his contributions have been evident, and he's been a tremendous asset. Previously, Bruno clearly rejected a move to the Saudi Pro League – that kind of loyalty is rare, and I think the manager's decision to trust him at the time was wise. From United's perspective, that decision has also proven correct."

"With the arrivals of Jean-Philippe Mateta and Matheus Cunha, United's attacking threat has improved, and I'm curious whether Bruno's mindset has also become more positive now. Is this United side more competitive than before? With Benjamin Šeško's addition, United have certainly progressed."

"I've always felt United's attacking options are quite strong; the real need for reinforcement is from midfield to defense. Under Amorim, can the team close the gap to the top sides? Can they challenge for trophies next season? In my view, there's still plenty of work to do."

"I lean toward thinking that at the end of the season, Bruno will assess the full picture before deciding. Personally, I believe he's likely to stay, but if United end up underperforming and fail to secure Champions League qualification, his thinking could change entirely. Ultimately, at season's end, Bruno must make the choice that's best for him and pursue his own ambitions."
