Sherwood: Salah Could Replace Ronaldo as Saudi League's Top Star If He Moves

February 8 – Former midfielder Tim Sherwood, in a recent interview, suggested that Mohamed Salah could join the Saudi Pro League in the summer transfer window and potentially replace Cristiano Ronaldo as the league's leading star.
In 2023, Al-Ittihad made a substantial offer for Salah, which was rejected by Liverpool. This summer, Saudi clubs are highly likely to submit another bid, and Salah is now more inclined to accept such an offer.
Sherwood remarked with a hint of sarcasm: "You have to feel sorry for Ronaldo, don't you? On a daily wage of £500,000, and Al Nassr not signing the players he wants – who wouldn't be frustrated? He has every right to be upset, doesn't he? I'd really like to ask, what is Ronaldo actually complaining about? If I were earning £500,000 a day, I'd just ask the club, 'What do you need me to do, and when do you need me to do it?'"
"Would Salah's arrival signal the end of Ronaldo's Saudi league career? Yes, it would. But then again, Ronaldo's career has always been filled with competition. Over the years, his lifelong rival has been Messi – how fortunate we are to have witnessed the Messi-Ronaldo era."
"Both Messi and Ronaldo are footballing gods, and now we have the Egyptian god – Salah. His performances have been top-class, and I'm glad he's still in the Premier League, but he won't be here next season."
"Salah will definitely leave the Premier League this summer, most likely for the Saudi Pro League, where he'll earn a fortune like other stars. And once Salah arrives in Saudi Arabia, he'll become the brightest star in the league, unmatched by anyone else. I just hope this whole saga surrounding Ronaldo isn't as unpleasant as it's being portrayed, because the current situation isn't exactly glorious for him, is it?"
